His race is called "Kasi"s.
In Finnish, arm is "kasivarsi" and I just took that.

I'm "IT" thanks to Chi. Well, here it goes...

The rules: I share 7 things about myself you don't already (possibly) know, and then I tag 7 others to do the same.

The name "Yusuke Sato" is almost equivalent to the most typical name in America, "John Smith" in the country of Japan. #1 last name in Japan is Sato/Satou/Satoh (same name, diff American spelling) and #2 is Suzuki (like the bike). And Yusuke is sumwhat typical, so overall it's not a unique name to have...

I was born in Japan, and after about 11months I moved to New York, Atlanta, Vancouver, and back to Atlanta again. Yet I still suck in Engrish.

I started playing video games since I was wearing Pampers. Now it's part of my life lol. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty good on Tetris.

The love of art/creating runs in our family I suppose. My mom draws/paints/sculpts/shadowbox, and both my brothers draws well. My grandparents are good in creating tools and little things that needs details. My uncle draws/paints/makes stuff too. Only one who isn't in the circle is my dad, haha.

I went through up's and downs on my weight. After repeating several patterns of fat-man and not-so-fat man, my peak was at high school weighing about 200lbs. And now I'm somewhere around 140. Ya-y. & I hope I'll never go back to that state.....

I think I'm a patient guy. I don't mind waiting for things for a long time, although there are limits. And I don't like self-centered people. The world isn't just yours, so think about the others plz...

I recently met an unique girl who I fell in love with. It's been 6months in relationship, and I respect her both as an artist and as a person, and jus simply fun to be around with! She also "tagged" me so I can write this list about myself lol. Love ya Chi :)

So, this is from Japan Fest 08', where they do every year at the Gwinett Convention Center (recently changed). They'll show things like Kendo, Shinkendo, Aikidou, Kyudo, many different types of dances, and ofcourse Japanese foods.

And one of the booth, Sake Story happend to be there, where I freelanced in the past.
I was surprised and happy to see my work being used :)
And I found this ORANGE-SHAPED ERASER at the fest, where I had to buy it. Got an egg-sushi eraser for someone :)

Since I took the SIGGRAPH trip as a class, I have to write some papers and do a little creation project: where I can do absolutely anything (as long as it's turned it by end of quarter).

So, I decided to give a little tribute to my peeps and create them using the avatar template I already had for this blog. Again, this whole style is inspired by the "Katamari" game series.

And just so you know, it has spacing around it for printing purposes.

So I decided to post a drawing for EL GRANDE, my future favorite comic. This is the "Raisin" vehicle from the comics, and I just love the design. Made a tiny little change, and I'm driving it.

Another BIG POST today

Things are still yet to calm down for me even though I'm done with this quarter. And here is another character that i had gone through for a different class.

He is a bacteria-phobic man, who always have himself equipped with a UV-type of light device to detect the bacterias, and a cleansing spray to kill them. I will try to finish up the weapons this break.

Old Spaceman in Concept

TWO BIG POSTS TODAY.

This is a class project where the instructor gave us a general concept for a character, and we had every other freedom. The character had to be a 86 years old spaceman/woman who collects relics that helps him/her rejuvenate their age.

Here are my concepts:

So I was thinking he's in space without oxygen, so he has to be wearing a suit all the time.
The back of the suit has a main jet thruster that can angle itself to a degree, and the three tubes hanging down is an adjuster jets. It can do minor adjustments as he fly around, and it's connected to a disc that can spin around to hover. His tool would be like a mop that can self morph into his needs: grabbing things and attacking things.

I used ink and marker with alcochol wash on this one.
It's really hard to control the alcohol in the way you want.

After we did the usual 30 sec, 60 sec life drawing, our instructor decided to do an imaginitive life drawing. He would give us descriptions on how the model is posed in certain ways, and everything else was up to our imagination juice. It was challenging but fun.

So, on the first image, the description he gave us was something like:
=standing
=legs are spread
=body bent forward
=one hand touching the floor
and this is what i got. really funky proportions and what not, but he looks kinda interesting.

This one had description like:
=one leg/feet sitting on top of something
=body is twisted
=both hands touching one side of the hip
and this is what i got. Again, funky with proportions, but meh....

Rodin Studies

Joe, Andrew, and I have been doing some general studies on Rodin sculptures. Gesture, musculature, proportion, putting on clothes, etc.

I think i'm at the point where i just need to draw like crazy and let loose of everything in my head as much as possible, as Joe mentioned.
Not just these studies but throughout all my drawings.

And I do have one 3D work that i will post as soon as its looking better than what it looks now, along with sum drawings.

It was like a tournament style, and i was knocked out before the final.

We're gonna be modelling our own characters for a class.

but dammit, i don't have any fully developed character that i would want to model....
So, why the hell not just make one now.
i went ahead and just flushed down ideas and references on sketch pad of sci-fi type of character.

And i apologize in advance to Joe and Elio, some of them may look like El Grande characters.

I'm suppose to be working on my ZBrush project, but I couldn't help it.
I wanted to draw sumthin.

This one I wanted to try sumthin different, since I usually tend to have really light & soft colors.

For this i just tried ways of coloring.
I used my fingers to paint and dropped a blob of color and blew on it.

This witch-like chick, i didn't even bother coloring cuz I didn't like it.

Heres a guy i saw at Akihabara/Electronic Town, aka Nerd Town. He had this ridiculous car with anime chicks all over it and was acting like "hell yeah I drive that shit, thats right mother f-er". And he had a huge gap between his teeth, which is sumthin that got my attention.

First day at the airport of Hartsfield, still had time to board so why not draw?

I saw this dude at Shinjuku, Tokyo where he wore this enormous jacket and skin tight jeans.
Also with those fishing hats worn deeply and his big nose was stickin out. It had character written all over it.

So I'm back from Japan.
It was one hell of a trip and I'm totally glad that I went.
Sadly, I only got about 12pages of drawings.
But I got to learn something more important: My lack of determination and the ability to think about the future.
I could say that I couldn't draw because I didn't have time, but now I know thats bullshit.
I was getting lost in Tokyo, getting sick for 3 days, don't know about the train system in Japan, went to 2 funerals, but it dun't matter.
I still should of had plenty of time to draw.
My uncle and my dad teached me that during/after the trip.
I hope I'm one step closer to becoming a better human being.

I took bunch of pictures, but it's gonna take forever to upload em so heres a little glance.
Heres a picture where I went to a museum where they have copies of famous paintings in REAL SIZE. I got to see many many many more, and it was awesome.

This is the Lightning/Thunder Gate of Asakusa, one of famous tour spots.
It was definately sumthing.

Now, I'm actually going through my memory of the trip and drawing them to my sketch pad. Simply because I'm embarrased of my lack of determination. I will post them later on, as school starts.

So I was at the mall the other day and I saw this.
A mom looking at clothes while holding on to the leash, that was connected to her child.
Is this normal nowadays? And this "leash" was like a mini teddy bear back-pack thing, and it just looked like it was humping the crap out of that child. Also the child was pretty.............zophic.

Well, heres some drawings I did for a GAD class. One em' is for horror-type game and the other for sci-fi type game. This is when I started coloring stuff on photoshop and noticed how much of a bitch it is to do it with a MOUSE. Gotta get a wacom....

Heres an drawing of Al Pacino I did way back in first quarter. Traced and inked.

A fairly large piece of Star Wars. Traced, inked, water color and guasch. Pretty stupid how I framed it and realized I should take a picture. enjoy glares and reflection of me.

A character we had to come up mixing with Robin Hood culture(old english),where I added Japanese into it, and made into a chick.
